Meet the Best ~ 23

"When you focus on your breath you remove False Expectations
Appearing Real."
  Your Weekly StressTip

What would your life be like if you had a personal mentor to guide you
on a daily, weekly and monthly basis -- on information products of
your choosing?

Certainly your life is worth investing in yourself.

Here is a mentor who has recently touched our lives and we are pleased
to share her with you in this entry of Meet the Best.

Introducing with appreciation and gratitude this month's "meet the best"
mentor Pema Chödrön.

Pema Chödrön came into our lives when we wanted to learn more about
fearlessness in every aspect of our life.

The Places That Scare You: A Guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times, is
a "how-to" guide to "...awaken our basic goodness and connect with
others, to accept ourselves and others complete with faults...and to stay
in the present moment by seeing through the strategies of ego that cause
us to resist life as it is."

Here are few excerpts for your consideration...

"Experiencing our emotional distress.  ...This is a felt experience,
not a verbal commentary on what is happening.  We can feel the
energy in our bodies.  If we can stay with it, neither acting it out
nor repressing it, it wakes up up.  ...Acting out and repressing are
tactics we use to get away from our emotional pain."  [pp. 28-29]

"Compassion is...a relationship between equals.  Only when we
know our own darkness well can we be present in the darkness
of others.  Compassion becomes real when we recognize our
shared humanity."  [p. 50]

"The essence of generosity is letting go.  Pain is always a sign
that we are holding on to something---usually ourselves.  When
we feel unhappy,...inadequate, we get stingy; we hold on tight.
Generosity is an activity that loosens us up."  [p. 94]
